Terms and Conditions

Please take the time to read our terms and conditions carefully. We hope you can understand why these policies are in place. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us :)

Health and Medical Conditions

By using our services, owners confirm that their dogs are up to date with vaccinations. In the best interest of your pet, any health or medical conditions must be disclosed before your appointment and in the unlikely instance of emergency, owners agree that The Dog Groom has permission to seek Veterinary treatment should it be considered necessary. Any veterinary expenses will be covered by the dog's owner.

The Dog Groom will not accept any dogs who are pregnant, as this can cause unnecessary stress that may have detrimental effects on the unborn puppies. Additionally, it's recommended to leave a groom until the puppies have been weaned.

If your dog has fleas, we may need to cancel your appointment to ensure the health safety of all pets in our care.  If we need to cancel your appointment on the day due to fleas, please be aware that this will fall under our cancellation policy that is outlined below. In this case, a full charge will apply. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Coat Condition

We see matting regularly in this industry. It is not an uncommon occurrence and we are not here to judge. As a groomer, the comfort and well-being of the dog is our priority therefore we will not de-matt unsalvageable or neglected coats. All grooming is completed with a high standard of care but it is important to note that if a shave-off is required, it can increase the risk of injury. If injury occurs (although very unlikely) on a matted coat, The Dog Groom is not responsible or liable and any veterinary expenses that may result from this will be covered by the dog's owner.

In the instance of smaller knots or tangles- these are more manageable, and we will try our best to accommodate, however it is still recommended to book your dog in for grooming on a regular schedule to avoid this altogether.

Cancellations

At The Dog Groom we understand that life can sometimes get in the way, we're only human and mistakes can be made. However we do kindly ask that the 24 hour cancellation policy is adhered to. We do send out a text reminder the day before your appointment.

If less than 24 hours notice is given regarding a cancellation, a cancellation fee of 100% will apply. This also applies to any no-show or missed appointments. Alternatively, if you'd like to rebook after no-showing etc, then you may be required to pay in full prior to the next appointment. As a small business, I hope you can understand why this policy is in place.

Equally, we also have certain punctuality requirements. We understand that life can get busy, but we kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment. Being late can affect what we can accomplish during your session, and we want to ensure that we can provide the best possible service for both you and your dog. Rushing a groom can lead to unnecessary stress or injury, therefore if you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to refuse your appointment and reschedule. If this is the case, a fee of 100% will apply.

Please also ensure that you are on time for collection. We care about your dog's well-being and pride ourselves with offering a one-to-one grooming service, tailored to the needs of your furry friend.

If you are late, your dog may have to be crated, which can be stressful for some. We want to ensure that every aspect of your dog's time with us is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

At The Dog Groom, we take customer satisfaction very seriously. If for any reason you are not completely happy with your dog's groom, please let us know within 48 hours and we will make every effort to correct any issues and ensure your complete satisfaction with our services.

Behaviour

At The Dog Groom, we want to keep our customers and staff safe during all grooming sessions. We ask that owners disclose any and all behavioural issues that their pet may have before their appointment. This includes any instances of biting, aggression towards other pets, people, or specific grooming procedures. To ensure the safety of all, we reserve the right to refuse or stop services at any time if your dog shows excessive signs of aggression or if we feel it is necessary. If injury to the groomer, other people or pets occurs due to aggressive behaviour, the owner will be responsible for any related medical bills.
